The fourth generation of the Dodge Ram 1500 variant was introduced for the 2009 model year. Three bed lengths and three cab styles were offered, and the light-duty truck was also offered with rear or four-wheel drive. A range of powerful V6, and V8 engines were available on the fourth generation Ram, and in 2014, a new 3.0L V6 EcoDiesel was introduced. In 2018, the fourth generation Ram came to a close as the Fifth Generation Ram was introduced.
