The third generation of Dodge Durango debuted for the 2011 model year. This new generation of Durango features smoother, less angular styling and has been offered with a standard V6 engine, or three optional V8 powerplants. The most notable of these engines were the 6.4L Hemi V8 found in the performance-focused SRT, and the supercharged 6.2L Hemi V8 used in the SRT Hellcat. A range of automatic transmissions were available, ranging from 5 to 8 speeds. Outside of the SRT variants, the R/T was another sporty variant.
