Produced in 1969, the Dodge Daytona was a variant of the 2nd Gen Dodge Charger model, albeit a high-performance version homologated for racing. The Daytona and the follow-up to it, the Plymouth Superbird, were successful race cars, making them instant classics in the showrooms. 433 of the 503 Daytonas built were equipped with the standard 440ci V8 or L code motor that produced 375hp to the rear wheels through an optional four-speed manual or automatic transmission.
