Automobiles Delaunay-Belleville was founded in 1903. In 1904, they had produced their first car. They were a company that was the first to market a six-cylinder engine in France. Delaunay-Belleville also pioneered the pressure-lubricated cam and even offered water-cooled brakes. As a luxury car builder, the brand found favor with royalty such as Tsar Nicholas II and King Alfonso XIII of Spain. The cars were easily recognizable with their barrel-shaped engine compartments. By the roaring 1920s, the company had divulged into truck manufacturing for commercial and military use. After WWII, the French manufacturer only lasted a couple of years until the factory was sold to Rovin, a motorcycle constructor.
