The first generation of the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer debuted for the 1983 model year. These compact SUVs were initially introduced in a 2 door SUV body style, but for the 1991 model year, a 4 door joined the lineup. A selection of inline four and V6 engines were offered, as was a diesel option. Both rear and four wheel drive configurations were available, as were manual or automatic transmissions. Production of the 1st Gen S-10 Blazer ended in 1994, when it was replaced by the 2nd Gen Chevrolet S-10 Blazer.
