The Chevrolet Kingswood Estate was a family of station wagons built over two distinct periods. First introduced in 1959, the first generation of Kingswood was only built until 1960, as a unique four door station wagon. The later, and more common second generation was introduced for the 1969 model year. The 2nd Gen Kingswood Estate was based on the Chevrolet Caprice, and was the top station wagon offering during its time. This series of cars was powered by a choice of a 5.7L, 6.6L, or 7.4L V8 engine, coupled with a manual or automatic transmission. Production of the Chevrolet Kingswood Estate lasted until 1972, when all Chevrolet station wagons began using the names of their respective sedans.
