In 2011 the 5th Gen Camaro Indianapolis 500 Pace Car was immediately met excitment by Camaro fans. The 5th Gen Camaro was introduced in 2010 in a 2 door coupe and paced the Indianapolis 500, but in 2011 Chevrolet was able to offer a convertible, and was able to generate even more enthusiam with a Indy pace car that drew a direct connection with the 1969 Camaro Indy Pace Car. All 2011 Pacers were RS/ SS and came in white with orange rally stripes and a orange interior,  just as they did in 1969. The 2011 Pace cars also utilized the unique grill painted body color, used the year prior by the 2010 Indy Pace Car, and came with exclusive Indy 500 badging and door decals. Chevrolet produced 500 Camaro Indy 500 Pace Car convertibles in 2011.
