The Chevrolet Camaro SLP ZL series were performance variants created by SLP (Street Legal Performance) starting in 2010. Chevrolet had successfully teamed up with SLP during the 4th Gen Camaro SS production. When Chevrolet introduced the 5th Gen Camaro SS, it was SLP that saw an opportunity to take the performance of the SS a step further. SLP created a range of limited ZL builds that included naturally aspirated and supercharged versions. The ZL550 is based off the Automatic L99 V8, which results in 550 HP. The 6-speed manual transmission SS LS3 V8 produced 575 hp, with the model designated as the ZL575 (250 examples built). In 2011 SLP had naturally aspirated offerings of ZL327, ZL427, ZL454, and ZL465. SLP tuned the power numbers on the superchargered versions a bit more and offered the ZL560, ZL585, and ZL600 (500 examples built). Also in 2011 SLP offered their version of the ZL1 and Panther, which utilized the LS7 427 V8 block from the Corvette Z06 and teamed it with an Eaton supercharger. All SLP ZL models featured a forced air induction hood, upgraded sport suspension and unique 20” wheels with red lip edges. The Brembo GT package was available option which included a 6 piston caliper brake system.
