The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Indy Pace Cars are a limited production variant of the First Generation Camaro created by Chevrolet to replicate the official pace cars used during the 1967 Indy 500. There were 2 official pace cars on the track, and several "festival" replica pace cars were used by the press and VIP. Chevrolet also distrubuted these cars to the dealers for sale to the public. The 1967 Camaro Pace Cars all came as a white RS/SS convertible, with a blue bumble bee stripe around the nose. They came with a blue deluxe interior and included a white top. The Pace car had the option of a 350ci V8, or the big block 396ci V8 with horsepower ranges mirroring that of the Camaro SS cars. Transmission options were also similar to the SS with the Muncie 4 speed manual, and 2 or 3 speed automatics. These cars are identified by specific codes on the trim tag.
