The Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon was a variant of the 5th Gen Buick Roadmaster that debuted for the 1949 model year. The Estate Wagon was a four door station wagon that featured wood-paneling. These cars were initially fitted with a 320ci (5.2L) straight eight engine, with a 322ci (5.3L) V8 replacing this engine for 1953. Regardless of the engine, these cars were equipped with a 2 speed Dynaflow automatic transmission that sent drive to the rear wheels. When production of the 5th Gen Roadmaster Estate Wagon ended in 1953, it signaled the end of the mass-produced "woody" wagons in the United States.
