BMW 116i - E8x (2005 to 2009)

The BMW 116i was a variant of the E8x BMW 1 Series that was introduced for the 2005 model year. The 116i was available in the 3 Door Hatchback (E81) and 5 Door Hatchback (E87) body styles. At launch, the 116i featured BMW's 114hp N45 engine, but from the 2008 model year onward, it featured BMW's 121hp N43 engine, both of which were 1.6L inline four powerplants. Production of the E8x BMW 116i ended in 2009, but the model series would continue life in the next generation F20 BMW 1 Series.
