Avanti II was an American autmotive manufacturer that began operating in 1965. The company was named for the car it offered, the Avanti. This car had been previously built as the Studebaker Avanti, but in late 1963, Studebaker closed its factory, making 1964 the last model year the Avanti was built under the Studebaker brand. After the closure of the factory, a group of former Studebaker dealers purchased the factory and required equipment to continue building the Avanti, but this time under the Avanti II brand. Over the years, the Avanti had continued to be made in small quantities under different corporate owners, until 2006, when the brand became dormant.
