The Audi S5 was a performance variant of the 1st Gen Audi A5. The first generation S5 was introduced for the 2008 model year and was available as a Coupe, Cabriolet, or Fastback Sedan (Sportback). The S5 was built using a different platform than the A5, and featured a different engine depending on the body style. The coupe was fitted with a 4.2L V8 engine, while the convertible and fastback sedan were fitted with a supercharged 3.0 V6 engine. Although different engines were used, performance varied little between the body styles. While the coupe was offered with both Manual and Automatic transmission options, only an Automatic Cabriolet was offered.
