The Audi S4 (B8) was introduced for the 2009 model year. The S4 was a performance focused variant of the B8 Audi A4, yet unlike its predecessors, this new S4 was not so highly placed in the model lineup, it was now placed closer to the standard A4, with the RS4 being distinguished as the top performance offering. The S4 (B8) was available as a sedan or 'Avant' station wagon, and was fitted with a supercharged V6 engine. Production of the B8 based Audi S4 ended in 2016.
