The fourth generation of Audi A4 was introduced for the 2008 model year. This new generation of A4, known as the B8, saw the model only offered as a sedan or station wagon as the convertible had been moved to the Audi A5. The A4 (B8) was fitted with a range of inline 4, V6, and V8 engines, and included the notable S4 and RS4 performance variants. Production of the fourth generation A4 (B8) continued until 2016 and was replaced by the Fifth Generation Audi A4 (B9).
