The fourth and final generation of the Audi 80 was introduced in 1992. This final generation of the 80 was known as the B4, and was offered as a sedan or 'Avant' station wagon. The B4 80 was only sold as the 80 in Europe, while it was sold as the 90 in North America. Engines available included a range of inline four, inline five, and V6 options. The most notable B4 80 variant was the S2, a performance focused turbocharged machine. This S2 (B4) is not to be confused with the Audi S2 Coupe. Production of the B4 80 sedan ended in 1994 while the 'Avant' was built until 1995. The Audi 80 would be replaced by the Audi A4.
