ASA, short for Autocostruzioni Società per Azioni, was an Italian automotive manufacturer that was founded in 1961. The company was established to produce the ASA 1000 GT, which was a car designed and engineered by Ferrari, but deemed to be too entry level for the brand. Although the company began operations in 1961, it wasn't until 1964 that the 1000 GT actually entered production. ASA continued to build cars until 1967, but various cars were built after 1967 from remaining parts.
