The Hornet AMX was the performance variant for the AMC Hornet. Introduced for the 1977 model year, the Hornet AMX was only offered on the hatchback body style, and was available with an inline six or V8 engine. The Hornet AMX was largely a cosmetic option, with the addition of decals and front and rear bodywork. Production of the AMC Hornet AMX only lasted for the 1977 model year, with 5,207 examples built.
