Alcyon was a French company in Neuilly Seine, France. The company started in 1890 by Edmond Gentile with the production of bicycles. In 1902 they produced their first motorcycle which started with a 98cc engine provided by the Swiss company Zedel. Early race victories in 1904 with the Model A led to a loyal following and tremendous popularity. In 1906 they also started manufacturing automobiles. Over the years Alcyon absorbed many other French manufactures including Armor, Labor, Thomann and Olympique. In the post-war era they used motors from AMC, VAP, and Zürcher. In 1954 Alcyon was absorbed by Peugeot. The Alcyon marque was still seen as late as 1968.
