The Acura TLX is a four-door sedan that went into production for the 2015 model year. The car was produced as a replacement for the TL and TSX models. The car has only been built in a front-engined sedan body style, with an inline four or V6 engine. Acura provided an automatic transmission for all TLX models; with a notable 8-speed dual-clutch transmission offered in the first generation (2015-2020). Acura produced a variant of the TLX that is sport focused, called the Type S. The Type S features a turbocharged V6 engine with AWD, bigger brakes, and a stiffer body. Acura decided more performance was required, so for 2023 the TLX Type S PMC edition was released, which is tuned by Honda Performance Manufacturing Center.
