The Daimler DE was a family of luxury cars that debuted for the 1947 model year. The DE range of cars were Daimler's top offerings during their production, building them in two distinct versions, the shorter wheelbase DE27, which was powered by a 4.1L inline six engine, and the longer wheelbase DE36, which featured a 5.4L inline eight engine. Both engines were paired to a 4 speed preselector manual transmission that sent drive to the rear wheels. Production of the Daimler DE family of cars lasted until 1953, when the Daimler DK400 was introduced.
