The Daimler 2.5 V8, also seen as 2½-Litre V8, was a series of luxury sedans introduced for the 1963 model year. The 2.5 V8 was the first Daimler offering to be based on a Jaguar model, something that would later become commonplace for Daimler. Borrowing from the Jaguar Mark 2, the 2.5 V8 was available in a four door sedan body style (although a few coachbuilt convertibles are known to have been built), and was powered by a 2.5L V8 engine that sent power to the rear wheels via a 3 speed automatic transmission (4 speed manual option was introduced in 1967). The Daimler 2.5 V8 was built until 1967, when a facelift saw the model renamed the Daimler V8-250.
