For the fourth generation of Toyota Celica (1986 to 1989), several major changes were applied. A new chassis (T160) was designed to fit the new front-wheel driveline, and a distinct 1980s design accompanied it. The U.S. would see four variants: the ST, GT, GTS, and GT-Four (Turbo-all trac). The flagship GT-Four was a unique car with four-wheel drive and a particular 3S-GTE turbo motor. The convertible modification company ASC returned in 1986 with convertible Celicas, and the hatchback and the notchback body styles were again available. The 4th Gen Celica was replaced by the 5th Gen Celica starting for the 1990 model year.
