The ninth generation of Chevrolet Malibu was introduced for the 2016 model year. Production of the Eighth Generation Malibu continued for the 2016 model year, with these outgoing models known as the Malibu Classic. These cars were offered exclusively as front wheel drive sedans, and were powered by a range of inline three and inline four engine options.
