A changing landscape
Monterey certainly hasn’t been the same since COVID-19 rocked the world in 2020. Obviously, we saw a huge reduction in listings that year (with many auctions being cancelled, and a few moving online), and the numbers haven’t caught up to pre-pandemic levels since then. This year, Russo & Steele has cancelled their Monterey Auction and Broad Arrow is bringing its inaugural auction to the peninsula. And with online auctions continuing to play a big role in the market, Monterey 2022 will be one that the entire industry will be watching closely as a gauge for the market as a whole. Porsche and Ferrari lead the pack
Monterey is one of the 3 primary auction events of the year where we see many of the high sales in the market (the other 2 are Scottsdale in January and Amelia Island in March).
