The Scottsdale auctions have long been one of the biggest highlights of the year, right up there with Florida in March and Monterey in August. These events have traditionally set the tone for the collector car market, giving enthusiasts and analysts like us a solid read on where things are heading.
But as we covered in our Year-End Report, the market is shifting. The dominance of these major auctions is fading, with results becoming more evenly spread throughout the year. However, they are still where we see many of the top sales of the year, and it’s worth digging into the results!
Of three auction houses that held events in Scottsdale this year, Barrett-Jackson, the OG of Scottsdale, remains the biggest in town, while RM Sotheby’s continues to lead in average sale price year-over-year.

Top Sales
The top sale was a nail-biter! RM Sotheby’s clinched the #1 spot with a stunning 1-of-28 1958 Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta 'Tour de France' by Scaglietti, selling for $3.77M. But Barrett-Jackson was right on their heels with a charity auction of the first retail production 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, VIN 001—configured to the buyer’s preference.
While Barrett-Jackson didn’t take the crown for the highest single sale, they dominated the Top 10, securing five spots—more than any other auction house. RM Sotheby’s followed with four, and Bonhams’ top seller rounded out the list at #10.
Scottsdale 2024 proved one thing: the market may be shifting, but these auctions still bring the heat.

Before that, we have the auctions at Retromobile Paris from both RM Sotheby's and Bonhams, Broad Arrow's Academy of Art Collection, and GAA February – among many others. The schedule is heating up, follow all the action on CLASSIC.COM!
