The third generation of Volvo V70 was introduced for the 2008 model year. The new XC70 offered more rear legroom and cargo space thanks to its improvements and for the first time inline four and six engines were available instead of inline five units. Production of the third and last generation of the Volvo V70/XC70 ended in 2016.
