The second generation of Volvo V70 R was introduced for the 2003 model year as part of the 2nd Gen Volvo V70. The V70 R was a performance focused version of the Volvo V70 and featured a 2.5L turbocharged inline five engine driving all four wheels through Manual or Automatic transmission options. As well as a more powerful engine, the V70 R received upgraded suspension as well as larger, more powerful brakes. Production of the Volvo V70 R ended in 2007.
