The Volkswagen Type 2 T2 Microbus was a passenger van body style fitted with a more comfortable suspension, two three-seater bench seats, upholstered interior panels and chrome hubcaps among other equipment. The combination between the T2 panel van and the microbus was known as the Kombi. This variant was fitted with a stiffer suspension, the headliner was only for the passenger area and had just 2 ventilation sliding windows, none in the cargo space. The T2 Microbus and Kombi were powered by flat-four engines, driving the rear wheels. The T2 Microbus was built until 1979 in Germany, 1994 in Mexico and 2013 in Brazil. Both variants ended production in 2013 even though the T3 Passenger van was built since 1979.
