The Mk8 Volkswagen GTI was introduced to the world for the 2021 model year. As part of the Mk8 Golf, this new and updated GTI was released in 2021 in Europe, but it wouldn't reach North America until the 2022 model year. Continuing the well-established GTI formula, these turbocharged hatchbacks had a compact but powerful engine at the front, sending drive to the front weels. This 2.0L turbocharged inline four engine had 241hp which was available with a 7 speed automatic or 6 speed manual transmission, although the manual was only available in North America.
