The Volkswagen New Beetle coupe was a closed top variant of the Volkswagen New Beetle, introduced in 1998. The New Beetle coupe had a front-mounted engine starting with a 74hp 1.4L Inline-four all the way to a 100hp 1.9L Turbodiesel inline-four. After a slight aesthetic upgrade in 2006, the New Beetle coupe was fitted with a 150hp 2.5L inline-five engine. The New Beetle coupe was replaced by the Beetle A5 for the 2012 model year.
