In 1991, TVR reintroduced their famed Griffith name. The TVR Griffith, which debuted for the 1992 model year, was a series of two seat, front engined roadsters built on a tubular steel chassis with a fiberglass body. Originally only available with a 4.0L V8 engine, in 1993, TVR added a 5.0L V8 as an option, and cars fitted with this top of the range engine were known as the Griffith 500. Regardless of the engine, Griffith cars sent power to the rear wheels via a 5 speed manual transmission. A total of 2,351 examples of the Griffith and Griffith 500 were built before production ended in 2002.
