New for the Millennium, Toyota launched a new line of trucks dubbed the Tundra, which would succeed the T100. The Japanese company made the commitment to construct the vehicles in North America beginning with the first generation, which ran from 2000 to 2006. The two or four-door full-size trucks were most commonly sold with the 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) and some with the 3.4L V6 (5VZ-FE) and even the 4.0L V6 (1GR-FE), with either manual or automatic transmission options. The 'Access Cab' trucks featured suicide doors in the rear that did not work independently from the front doors (therefore, considered here as 2 door trucks). Toyota Racing Development (TRD) created supercharged V6 and V8 versions for added performance. The first generation was updated in 2007 by the second generation Tundra.
