The second generation of Toyota Tacoma debuted for the 2005 model year. The 2nd Gen Tacoma was available with a regular cab, an extended cab, or a crew cab, with a short (5ft) or long (6ft) bed. These trucks were offered in rear wheel drive or all wheel drive configuration with two engine options. A 2.7L I4 was the base engine, while a 4.0L V6 was optional. Both engines were available with a manual or automatic transmission. Notable variants offered include the X-Runner, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, and the TRD Extreme. Production of the 2nd Gen Tacoma lasted until 2015, when it was replaced by the 3rd Gen Toyota Tacoma.
