Availalble between 1985 and 1989, the Toyota MR2 - Base Model - Manual was the first and most common variant of the 1st generation (W10) MR2. Its automatic sibling would follow shortly after. The Toyota MR2 was powered by the Toyota 4A-GE 1,587 cc (1.6 L) inline-four engine, capable of 112 hp in the US (or 128 hp for the UK version), driving power to the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission. Most early MR2's had fixed roofs (Coupe) with a removable sunroof. Later in production, a T-top option became available, as did a Supercharged version.
