The fourth-generation Toyota 4Runner was introduced for the 2003 model year. Compared to the 3rd Gen, it incorporated significant changes to the chassis and body. Available trims were the SR5, Sport Edition, and Limited models. The all-new 4.0L V6 (1GR-FE) which produces 245 hp became standard and a 4.7L V8 (2UZ-FE) was optional as well, producing 235 hp. The 4th Gen 4Runner was succeeded by the 5th Gen 4Runner for model year 2010.
