The Subaru Impreza P1 was a limited production high performance variant of the First Generation Subaru Impreza. The P1 was created as a UK-specific model in order to counter the importing of high performance Japanese Impreza variants. Prodrive, who ran Subaru's World Rally Championship teams, was tasked with creating the P1, which featured an improved drivetrain as well as an uprated 276hp turbocharged flat four sending power to all four wheels via a 5 speed manual gearbox. The P1 was only available as a 'Sonic Blue' painted coupe, with only 1000 examples produced.
