Post-war manufacturing for the Rover resumed in 1949 with the launch of the P4, which was the successor to the Rover P3, and spawned several variants for the company. The P4 was a "mid-size," four-door sedan and would serve as the standard Rover design for years. The first P4 was known as the "75," and like many other P4 models, it was available in four and six inline cylinder configurations with a front-engined, rear-wheel drive powertrain. Other P4 variants were produced during the model's life, including the 60, 90, 105, 80, 100, 95, and 110. Rover discontinued the P4 in 1964. The Rover P5 would succeed the P4 and was already in production when it was released.
