Introduced for the 2015 model year, the 958.2 Cayenne was the second evolution of the Second Generation Porsche Cayenne. The 958.2 Cayenne saw a substantial change to the four wheel drive system offered on the Cayenne. Previously, the Cayenne had been built with full time all wheel drive, but the 958.2 saw the model become part-time all wheel drive, only sending drive to the front wheels when additional traction is needed. Both V6 and V8 engines were available on the 958.2, as well as diesel and hybrid options, all of which used an 8 speed automatic transmission. Variants offered for the 958.2 included the 3.6, S, S E-Hybrid, GTS, Turbo, and Diesel. The 958.2 Cayenne was sold until 2018, when it was replaced by the Third Generation Porsche Cayenne.
