The first evolution of the Second Generation Porsche Cayenne was the 958.1 Cayenne. Introduced for the 2011 model year, the 958.1 Cayenne was thoroughly updated from the previous 957 Cayenne, both in terms of design and in terms of engineering. A wide range of V6 and V8 engines were available, with diesel and hybrid options also offered. All 958.1 Cayennes were equipped with four wheel drive, with the majority of cars fitted with an 8 speed automatic transmission. A 6 speed manual was available, but only on the base Cayenne 3.6. Alongside the 3.6, other variants offered included the S, S Hybrid, GTS, Turbo, Turbo S, and Diesel. Production of the 958.1 Cayenne lasted until 2014, when it was replaced by the 958.2 Porsche Cayenne.
