The Porsche Cayenne Type 955 was the first evolution of the First Generation Porsche Cayenne to be introduced. 955 was Porsche's internal code for the first series of Cayennes to be built. Debuting for the 2003 model year, the 955 Cayenne featured four wheel drive, and was available with a range of front-mounted V6 and V8 engines. Over the course of 955 production, Porsche created several variants, which included the 3.2, the S, the Turbo, and top of the line Turbo S. The 955 Cayenne was built until 2006 and was replaced by the 957 Porsche Cayenne for the 2008 model year.
