For model year 2011 Porsche introduced a more powerful version of the 997.2 Turbo called the Turbo S (S standing for Sport). It was a available as coupe or cabriolet, and came standard with a 7-speed PDK transmission, carbon ceramic brakes, and a Sport Chrono package. The engine in the Turbo S was tuned to generate an extra power output of 30 hp more than the standard Turbo, bringing the total to 523 hp. Total production count was approximately 5,150 (both coupe and cabrio). The Turbo S saw a limited production variant called the Turbo S Edition 918 Spyder.
