The first iteration of the Porsche 911 GT3 for the 997 generation (a/k/a 997.1 GT3) was sold for model years 2007 and 2008. It featured the 3.6L Mezger engine producing 415hp, driving power to the rear via a six speed manual transmission. That’s over 115 horsepower per liter from a naturally-aspirated engine, an incredible figure at the time. Featuring an aggressive rear wing and front spoiler, the 997.1 GT3 looked ready to hit the track. 3,329 were built. It was replaced by the 997.2 GT3 for model year 2010.
