Like its predecessor, the Porsche 356 B T6 Cabriolet was one of the two convertible variants made for the 356 B (Cabriolet & Roadster). Nonetheless, with the very short production of the 356 B T6 Roadster, this particular variant became the only convertible option offered in 1962 and after. As with previous generations, the B T6 Cabriolet was offered with all of the engine options offered for the 356 B T6 Coupe: 1600, 1600S, S90, and Carrera, all of them paired to a four-speed synchromesh transmission. Similar to the previous generations, this Cabriolet saw shorter production runs than its Coupe sibling: between 1962 and 1963 close to 2,500 cars were produced vs about 12,000 Coupes in the same period.
