The third generation of Pontiac Catalina was introduced for the 1965 model year. The third generation Catalina featured updated styling and mechanicals, and was offered with a range of V8 engines. The third generation Catalina was available in a wide range of body styles and was in production until 1970. The third generation Catalina was replaced by the Fourth Generation Pontiac Catalina.
