The first generation Plymouth Road Runner was introduced for the 1968 model year. Created as a more entry level model compared to the Plymouth GTX, the first generation Road Runner was available with a range of V8 engines, including a 7.0L Hemi V8. The Road Runner was available as a coupe or convertible. The first generation Road Runner was in production until 1970 and was replaced by the Second Generation Plymouth Road Runner.
