Oldsmobile is an American automotive manufacturer that traces its roots to 1897. In 1908, the original Olds Motor Vehicle Co. was purchased by General Motors, and the company became known as Oldsmobile. During the majority of its existence, Oldsmobile was GM's mid range brand. Notable models produced include the Curved Dash, 88, Hurst/Olds, Cutlass Supreme, Rallye 350 and 442. Due to financial and sales problems, General Motors discontinued the Oldsmobile brand in 2004.
