Oldsmobile introduced the fourth generation of Cutlass Supreme for the 1978 model year. This new generation of Cutlass Supreme was downsized from its predecessors, and was offered as a coupe, sedan, and station wagon. The fourth generation of Cutlass Supreme was fitted with a range of V6 or V8 engines, and was built until 1988, when the Fifth Generation Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme was introduced.
