Oldsmobile introduced the eighth generation of 98 for the 1965 model year. This updated generation of 98 was offered as a coupe, sedan, convertible, or hardtop, and was built with either a 7.0L or 7.5L Rocket V8 engine. Production of the eighth generation 98 continued until 1970, when it was replaced by the Ninth Generation Oldsmobile 98.
