The third generation of Oldsmobile 88 was introduced for the 1957 model year. This new generation of 88 saw the base variant named the Dynamic, while the top variant still remained the Super. The third generation 88 was offered in a wide range of body styles, including coupe, sedan, hardtop, and Fiesta station wagon, all of which were powered by the 6.1L Rocket V8 engine. Production of the third generation 88 ended in 1958, when the Fourth Generation Oldsmobile 88 was introduced.
